Jazzy lick over a II V progression (Gm7 C7), the fast run on the Gm7 chord and the doublestop on the C7 chord. Then transpose a whole step down to Fm7 Bb7.

  • Hey MarloweDK,

Quick question for you... I'm just starting to get serious about getting a nice bass. For the most flexibility, would you recommend a Fender P-bass or a Music Man Stingray? BTW, I LOVE this lick! Thanks, Tim (Feb 12, 2012)

  • @timbirchard A Fender P or Jazz, the Stingray is a bit more limited IMO. But again it all depends of the style of music you play

  • Hi, thank you so much for all the videos. I am a starting student of yours now i guess and i had a question regarding theory. would C7 be referring to the mixolydian mode? making Gm7 dorian thus making the overall key Fmajor just for Gm7 C7. Also regarding the chord progression C to Bb, i understand that in the circle of fourths it goes C-F-Bb, does this have anything to do with how you came up with this progression, or did you just simply move it a whole-step down? Thankyou

  • @kaellun You are right in your theory, in this piece im playing Gm7 C7 which are in the key of F major and transposing the whole thin a step down to Fm7 Bb7 the key of Eb Major

  • Sincerelly, the best bass player I have seen in my whole live. More groove, feeling and taste than any of the "greats". Big thanks for your work and lessons for the community. Javier. Spain.

  • jesus it was like the bass was formed just for your hands. beautiful bass line and awesome playing as always
