Theyre plantin flowers down on Wilshire, Up on Third they're bakin pies
The big parade in Hollywood tears up Huell Howser's eyes
The lights up on Rodeo, giant snowflakes hangin round
The smell of lotkes down on Fairfax make a gentile kiss the ground

Ice skaters down in Pershing Square, bring joy to all who pass
Tamales out in Boyle Heights feed every lad and lass
L Rons Winter Wonderland lights up the Boulevard
Every house in Altadenas got a decorated yard
But stockings stuffed with hookers' thighs...Thats XMAS in Van Nuys

Youll never hear a single carol, never smell no gingerbread
Santa cant compete with ghettobirds a-flying overhead
The working girls and taco trucks they clutter up the street
And the only things that prance and paw are stray dogs dirty feet

So if youre wanting Christmas spirit and youre not sure where to go
A place to take your sweetheart where they hang the mistletoe
You could take a walk thru Oldtown, Abbot Kinneys always grand
And the festival in Griffith Parks enough to beat the band
