William McNary is the President of USAction and Co-Director of Citizen Action/Illinois speaking at a press conference on Capitol Hill 9 21 2011.

Change.org, ColorOfChange.org, CREDO Mobile and USAction collected over 250,000 petition signatures demanding an end to discrimination against jobless workers. The petitions were targeted at the leading online employment sites.

The National Employment Law Project and UnemployedWorkers.org helped to drive awareness of this issue and connect the voice of the grassroots with progressive champions on the Hill: Rep. Rosa DeLauro, Rep. Hank Johnson and Sen. Richard Blumenthal, original co-sponsors of legislation that would ban this type of discrimination, The Fair Employment Opportunity Act.
