2010 PPIHC Highlights "The Sump"

This video contains some of the highlights from the 2010 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb from the Sump corner. The race is always a fantastic time and some of the cooler features of the video are car 14, piloted by Ikuo Hanawa, which is electric and if you listen closely you can hear a siren which is a warning device for onlookers. Car 725, a Mitsubishi Evo, was piloted by Dave Carapetyan who set a record time (11:34.017) in the Pikes Peak Open division. A new record was also set by Savannah Rickli, in car 127 which was a Mini Cooper S, as the youngest racer to ever compete in the hill climb where she finished with an impressive time of 13:58.232! The greatest part of the hill is awaiting the day when 10:00 is finally broken and the most likely candidate is "The Monster" Nobuhiro Tajima. Running in car 1, the Suzuki SX4, Tajima ran a very impressive time (as always!!!!!!!!!) but just fell short of making the new record running with a time of 10:11.490! Next year Monster, next year...

The other prime contender for breaking 10:00 is a Colorado resident named Rhys Millen who ran in car 6 which is a Hyundai RMR JE09. Unfortunately you can see he had some bad luck on the Sump corner and later on during his run he suffered break failure in the front of the car (I believe but I have not been able to verify it). Even with these problems he still ran a great time of 11:06.208 and is sure to be strong competition for next year.

Thanks to all of the amazing drivers that take on the challenge of Pikes Peak and I cannot wait to be there next year! There is definitely no other race in the world quite like this!

We were watching you guys from way up on the mountain and could literally hear you guys having a good time. The commentary MAKES the video:

"WOOOOOOOOOO...was that an Evo?"

Then when Tajima goes by, you easily speak for the inner-race fan in all of us, you really belted one out! And I'm glad someone was at the Sump for Rhys' spin.

All in all, you are awesome.
