ARE YOU KIDDING? LOL I've been a Confederate reenactor for over ten years and was in the middle of MANY local and national battles. I witnessed no more than three or four yankees taking hits during all this time. And in every battle I crossed against the 2nd US Sharpshooters, never once have I seen one of them fall. God forbid they get any dirt on their blue (or in their case, green)

@rebelcry99 my ex is definitely a confederate at heart. The irony of it all is he is Minnesotan.

I am a reenactor belonging to units representing both sides, and the best solution I've found when it comes to taking hits in battles is as mentioned before, designating casualties... If I find there aren't enough hits being taken, I set an example and take one myself. Then at least it can signal to the others that they need to take some too.... It does look rediculous when you fire volley after volley and nobody falls.

@rebelcry99 That sucks that people don't pretend die when you pretend shoot at them, you have my pretend sympathies.

Can't help but admire the soldiers fighting in the 1700s and 1800s...standing tall, facing the enemy, no sneaking around (for the most parts) and no trying to hide..:"here I am, come get me!"...have to take just a bit of balls.

@AZNmanJJ there are some pretty hardcore guys at these events, you can often smell them long before you see them
