Starring Conrad Brooks (ED WOOD), the story like Downton Abbey takes place in the Edwardian Era, inspired by and with literary allusions to the works of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Thomas Paine, Daphne du Maurier and Shakespeare; involves Captain Vaushnic, disfigured in the June 1914 attack on Archduke Ferdinand, who returns to the Manor Selby seeking aid for his peace-keeping efforts in Verdun, France during the height of World War I.
