  • Unlike the Toyota you don't have to drive the VW like a granny to get good mpg, you have a lot more torque, it doesnt look like a deformed hatchback, it doesnt have expensive batteries that stop taking a charge after the warranty coverage on them is up, and kids arent trying to steal parts off your car.

  • these Jetta's are crazy quiet in traffic, i'm just saying don't make claims if you don't know about the vehicle you're bringing down

  • Must admit I don't understand why the Prius has a gas unit rather than a derv / diesel unit. In the UK LPG would be a great hit. And if your sitting in a lot of traffic Prius will always have it .....your right it does well at granny speeds. In the city you can nail it every time with a Prius, if your not on the bus !

  • Both cars are helping convert people to efficient cars, if it wasn't for the Prius carrying the 'treehugger' tag, the VW diesel would be carrying that tag instead. I had a diesel VW, prefer the Prius I replaced it with, so take your pick, both are the future.

  • tdi is a sweet car!!

  • Do fifty percent city driving and see what kind of gas millage you get in the tdi, it will be way down, thats were the prius shines and you can't compete because of the electric battery assist, you guys did basically all freeway miles which is comparable, go ahead do a lot of city driving, your gas millage will go way way down!! have a competition in the city see who wins haha, you'll lose, but tdi is a lady killer car though, your going to have a lot more date having a tdi than prius lol...

  • do you know what I see here, A FUCKING ADVERT FOR THIS Passat.

  • @Domman56

Agree, I have a Jetta and people are thinking of loud smokey 70's car diesels or big truck diesels. The TDI is quite and clean for any car much less diesel. No one knows it's a diesel by noise or smoke (makes no smoke) unless they are real knowledgeable and listen closely. The TDI badge on the trunk is the give away, not the sound. The only time it is obviously a diesel is with the hood open and your head near the engine. Driving is a joy.

  • Same here

  • where I live diesel is only 12 cents more a galon

  • screw that. honda sucks.
