Installed Debian and Compiz on to my Acer Aspire One laptop (the 1gb ram and 120gb HD version)

  • It runs pretty juicy... how the heck did you do that? My Aspire (with debian lenny) is quite slow compared to this!

  • Im using also lenny, i just optimized the compiz like this:

    Using the below option in the Device section improves compiz performance about x2. Driver "intel"  Option "AccelMethod" "exa" Option "MigrationHeuristic" "greedy"

    and this in your /etc/profile

    export INTEL_BATCH=1

  • HI!!! I have got the same netbook and want install Debian on it. Now I am using ubuntu 8.01. Please could you be so kind to point me on the instruction how to install it and fix all problems.

    P.S. Are you using Lenny or Etch?

  • How did you get wifi working with laptop? i have debian 6 and it wont work.

  • i just managed to get my aao working with lenny it wouldnt go on the web... now it does!

  • 'ubuntu 8.01' should read as 'ubuntu 8.04' of course :)
