Just Another Savior : Snake Worship?

The questions I had growing up related to Christianity in general. I had too many nagging questions that no one would answer. There's no church that can answer them. I'm on my own, and always on a quest to learn; but I think I prefer it that way.
One of the problems I could never get past was that it seemed that Adam and Eve were tricked. Why put that tree in the garden if they couldn't eat from it? Every parent knows that if you don't want your children to get into something, you put it away. The serpent had to have been involved in this delusion somehow.

The first sign given to Moses to prove that he was speaking for God was turning his staff into a snake. Why was that the first thing? That was when he was talking to the burning bush.

Later in the Wilderness, angered by the complaining of the Isrealites, God sent snakes to kill them. He sent snakes! Shortly after, he gave them a way out; by just looking at a representation of a snake that Moses had made under God's direction, they would be healed.

Yet, Exodus 20:4 states, You must not make for yourself a carved image or a form like anything that is in the heavens above or that is on the earth underneath or that is in the waters under the earth."

What?! So, why is it okay to make a snake and look towards it to be saved? Is there some connection between the snake and Jesus Christ, who is also said to have hung on a tree? It's just a different savior!

You'll see snakes connected with symbols of healing, with all sorts of symbols from ancient Egypt and in symbols of the occult.

Daniel W. Fry wrote numerous books about his alien contact experience, the first and most famous of which was published in 1954 called "The White Sands Incident". During his life he held many jobs, from explosive expert to a rocket instrument technician at the White Sands Proving Ground.

After his experience, he published numerous books, gave thousands of talks and started an organization called Understanding, which he ran until shortly before his death in 1992 in Alamogordo, New Mexico.

Looking at the newsletters, Understanding was obviously a religious organization.

Just sayin'.

@kybleschranz Mix religions? I am knowledgeable, yes, but you can know things without making them your belief system. In my eyes, our Creator is much more loving than the one you perceive. This is an individual process, not a "one size fit's all" creed. I'm satisfied with the nature of our creator. I don't follow a jealous, vengeful god, and If you're wrong, it's not an issue to the creator. I've seen the world through your view, and I understand your thinking. But I'm never going back to it.
