Inside white and blue. Bordered in black. On it the letters BMW. For more than 90 years this is the symbol for sheer driving pleasure. But how was this logo developed? We set out on a search for clues.

  • .......and BMW's first car was based on the Austin 7. In fact, they built it under license.

  • @angryfurniture Yes that is the movie I was thinking of. Thanks! I actually believed the airplane propeller explanation of the logo when I saw that movie. I guess BMW saw the movie also.

  • @hobbygott1983 there is no Balkenkreuz in use today at the german military. what you mean is the iron cross wich is on every vehicle.
