The single most important thing we can do to keep from getting sick and spreading illness to others is to wash our hands. Still, hand hygiene compliance rates among healthcare workers, is only about 40 percent at the best facilities. With over 100,000 people a year dying from hospital-acquired infections, it seems as though the medical community has washed their hands of caring.
