An ex-soldier who was held captive. When he was held captive all he could think of was his family, but when he returned home all he could think of was what his captors did to him.

You did a good job with this, and with understanding some of the long-term effects captivity has on POWs, even after they return. Would have been more effective with a bit more makeup - i.e. bruising, blood after being punched, for realism. Also escaping being tied was a little unrealistic - he would most likely have been handcuffed.
But a good first effort regardless.
