Milton Bateman does a brilliant of clearly outlining the "greed and vulgarity and inefficiency" in microfinance, even though it's clearly a topic he's passionate about.
Microfinance was so predictably one of the those bad ideas that were bound to fail (for the borrowers) that many of us have been holding our breaths and just hoping that not too many poor people would be hurt.
