....this City. It has history, culture and a good night life. And was very recently announced in Lonely Planet as one of the top ten City's in the *WORLD* to visit. Need I say more!!

Yeh, avoid this place like the plague.
It is just awful.
Our hotel tried to steal out credit cards, the taxi drivers ripped us off, we were thrown out of a shop just for asking the priuce of something, everywhere we went was filthy, and everything was broken, delapidated or falling to pieces.

Tourists beware,this city is one to avoided.Nasty people,filthy streets.No culture just pubs.

@thedebtsettler Interesting that you mentioned hostile.I found that the people have a nastiness about them.There is no way that this city should portray itself as a modern European city.I recently heard that the Lonely Planet guide gave it a thumbs up;are these people blind?

Ive just returned from Cork and I found it to be an utter shithole.
Primitive, dirty, and hostile.
The wrong bit of Ireland got bombed thats for sure.
