@njolly99 I agree with you, but some of the elder classes are still open to just signing up(60+ iirc). Or one has to qualify by just completing an IM somewhere else to secure the spot as there are rarely that many athletes in those age categorys. So that 67yr old guy probably "just" needed to finish a minor IM in 13-14hrs or so.

@klatkadlakitki I agree anyone who takes on the Ironman should be prepared but i would be devastated to not make a cut-off. Especially the final one.
