To my knowledge, this is the fastest lap time in an unmodified Honda S2000.
This was my first and only time to ever run racing compound tires at a road course event. I usually run street tires.
My driving style involves staying near the upper end of the traction limit curve from the earliest moment of turn in all the way through the exit. This is hard on the tires but when going for the fastest possible time I believe this is the easiest way to navigate the track. It is easier for me to feel the feedback from the car when driving the upper limit of the traction curve. I feel that trying to drive the lower end of the optimal traction curve, or trying to stay on top of it, more often than not results in under-utilization of the available traction.
Alignment settings that I wanted...
front caster: 6.75'
front toe: 0
front camber: -1.7
rear toe: .08"
rear camber: -2.3
Actual...
Front:Right
Camber -1.6
Caster 6.7
Toe -0.01
Front:Left
Camber -1.5
Caster 6.7
Toe 0.01
Rear:Left
Camber -2.1
Toe 0.19
Rear:Right
Camber -2.4
Toe 0.17
I would pit mid-session once the car started to push and lower my pressures to 37 front, 35 rear. I started at 28.5psi cold.
I used Carbotech xp10/xp12 combo and Super Blue racing brake fluid. I experienced some fade still. I also replaced my rotors with new OEM rotors. The front left rotor cracked all the way through on the last session.
It was 50 degrees outside, average humidity 29, wind speed about 14mph NNW.
Ran without my spare tire or jack. My fast lap was done on 1/2 a tank of gas. And I weigh about 190lbs.
My oil was 10w-30 synthetic. The car had 32000 miles on it. The air filter was changed 2 months prior with a stock filter.
@MasterApex1 Was on 225/245 AP1 rims. I think I see what you mean. The point in which I switch into 5th on the back straight I am at red-line (100mph), but then I brake to 97 and don't reach 100 til almost the top of the hill. So I guess I should have been in 4th. But I was trying to be at the bottom of 5th through T7 and take T7 at 100+. It was a mistake on my part that I took it at 97 and not 100+. Of the entire lap I wish I could redo this part. On streets I maxed at 101mph (reading at apex).

You are right. I meant to say you shift a lot, and you short shift 4-5 on the back straight. This is not a critic, just an observation which may be the right thing to do. AP2 gearing allows 4th gear to be around 99-102mph depending on tire size so one could take the T7 all the way in 4th at hit redline at the track out. What was your R6 tire sizes?

@MasterApex1 Actually in this video I only short shifted turn 9. I found that if I floored it I could stay at the limit through the turn and it was no different than squeezing the throttle and shifting into fourth 3/4 the way through. I also experimented short shifting 11, but not in this particular video. I really liked the AP1 gearing better, but still love the AP2 too.

awesome driving..interesting that you short shift a lot.
For example, on back straight between T6 -T7, you shift to 5th way before the 4th gear redline at 99mph so taking the T7 in 5th instead of 4th.
