anybody used one of these with a case on the phone? not a super thick rugged case, just a slim hard case

@MrAngryGuru Yes it rotates. No issues with clearance in my car. It depends on where the car mount for your specific vehicle is located. I rely on the voice nav primarily, but you can always use the device holder in conjunction with a window mount. It will not work with a case but it does work with a skin such as the BodyGuardz armor

I wasn't aware HTC made a car dock. The one Verizon sells, which is made by iGRIP, does switch the phone to car dock mode.

@mikes65536 that's the one I was referring to; I never got it to work switching my TB to car dock mode.

@mikes65536 it does not, but you can use something like AutomateIt to automatically launch car home. I have google car home set to automatically launch when my Thunderbolt connects to my bluetooth car kit. AFAIK there is not a dock that automatically puts it into dock mode. The OEM dock definitely doesn't as I had that one first.
