Tibia 3D

So from input from many players, and our own thoughts too, though misunderstood by a lot of angry kids, turning tibia into a normal 3D game was not the way to go about adding perspective to it.
We don't want it to look like Runescape or anything lol.

So using 3d technology, we made Tibia look like Tibia. And gave it dimension.

How it works:
Tibia graphics have been UV mapped onto surfaces.
Height as represented in Tibia's isometric viewpoint has been recreated in 3D, so although a real-space environment, there is now a Y axis, traveling 45 degrees to -X, 45 degrees -Z, and 45 degrees +Y.

You see a slight change in objects as they move from one side to the other of the screen.
This change can be increased to give a more dramatic perspective, or decreased to flatten the game back to 2D (which will look identical to 2D tibia as the textures have been projected from above onto their respective flat surface models), with a simple slide tool that could be installed into the client which would increase the cameras Y position, while decreasing it's focal length at the correct ratio to keep the same amount on screen at 0 on the Y axis which is roughly 15x11 squares, and precisely at a 4:3 ratio.

This change of graphics could perfectly replace the 2D graphics in positions, with a Y coords introduced automatically based on the current layer system, and graphical glitches such as things going through walls would be simply fixed with rendering layers in a reverse L shape from a single square in the top left to the whole bottom and right borders for the current level, and separate rendering layers for above and below levels, for example to stop a tree sticking through the floor in some places where they are in caves.

(That's like calling out a builder to plan a building, have him spend 3 days on it, days going over any problems that may be encountered on the land, planning supports etc..

Then you say to the guy "Cheers mate, great work! Now you can go home, we're not going to pay you for any of this, but we will hire someone else to use your plan and continue your work!")

@Naneoc I'm an artist, I work for companies designing their game assets, cgi, anything graphics related.

I spent 3 days working on this concept which they asked me to. The only reason I would do that without signing a contract is because of the opportunity of this actually going ahead, which should without question mean that I get paid to do this work. They decided to do it and to use someone else to do it after asking me to provide the concept, and did not pay me.

@86Corvus tibia was a decent game back 10 years ago, i quit because they bombarded it with useless updates, rules, and other annoying crap; the game does indeed suck now, but when it was good, it was amazing.
