University of London Chamber Choir, conducted by Colin Durrant // Lady Chapel at Ely Cathedral // Robert Pearsall (1795-1856): Lay a Garland // Filmed by Samuel Lui
The contrast between p/f could have been bigger especially the : " her love... her love"section.
Towards the end of the piece the 'th' sounds are not together, some are late.
Insufficient practice?
I love the basses! Brilliant!
I personally feel that the T1 part stood out a little too much, and the tone of the T1s (very few I guess) do not blend so well with the rest of the choir.
Pearsall is full of atmosphere, and this is like the clouds on a baroque ceiling. Please have a go at Rheinberger, Stanford, or Palestrina.
Actually, on looking at other clips, especially your Elgar, at least part of this goodness comes from unhurried conducting.

Great work ;)
Could have been more impressive though.
