Now that India has gotten independence, and is returning back to the historical mean as one of the world's greatest economic powers... you think she is going to become a Western lapdog to challenge China and to perpetuate the West's predominance?

Yep, West has two options:

First is a coalition of willing Asian nations, anchored by India, Indonesia, and Japan to contain China's rising influence.

Second option is to accommodate China's rise.

As for the first option China is India's largest trading partner and they do not have any fundamental areas of conflict. Both despise Western predominance, and India is a Superpower candidate in her own right, may play both sides, but ultimate is a developing nation just like China

You realize that China learned from the USSR example - never liberalize economic and politically at the same time. If you want to collapse, you should liberalized political and economic reforms at the same time like the USSR, but if you want success, you don't emulate political reforms at the same time as economic reforms.
