Unconscious Non-Breathing Procedure in Shallow Water

Video shows how lifeguards should deal with a non-breathing, patient found in shallow water.

Key Points:
* Breathing should not be assessed until all complications can be dealt with
* 5 Breaths should be given because of aquatic history
* Bathing suit would actually be cut away prior to application of AED pads.

  • why waste time delivering in water breaths(5x)? your right at the edge get the out and stable procede with cpr. The second lifeguard uses bad lowering posture, high risk of back injury. Delay in cpr while getting pads ready and keep your eyes on the patient don't watch the AED when shocking.
