its kind of unfortunate that the performance was behind the president.

I'm a drummer, I couldn't tell lol.

You stupid fucking idiot. I said Nobody noticed that it is totally silent, meaning you can't hear the crowd cheering. If it wasn't recorded, the microphones would pick up all the ambience of the people

U r retarded... read the title of the video

no one noticed that it is DEAD SILENT when they come to a rest? 500000000 people all around them and I don't hear any cheering or talking. Are those magic microphones?

you can tell a slight glitch at 0:38 when mr. ma hits the low note

I completely agree. These wonderfully talented artists had very understandable reasons not to play live. It those kinds of weather conditions it would have been nearly (if not entirely) impossible to keep their instruments in tune, even if you are Itzhak Perlman and Yo Yo Ma.

The vibrato even seems to be in sync with the recording.

I adore Mr. Ma. Very Romantic.

this was awesome
"It was to cold for them to do it live. I was reading a news article on it and they said that it would have sounded terrible instrument wouldn't have stayed in tune, string could have broke, the wood could crack on the instruments. So they had a very good reason to use a recording. " I agree.

anyone who owns an expensive instrument will understand why they recorded this. it was far below zero during the inauguration, wood cracks, necks warm, finish cracks, strings break, etc. it would be a disaster to play an instrument live in that kind of weather.
