  • I'm so glad he keeps himself from getting anything as serious as leukemia again. As painful and unpleasant as blood tests are (I don't like them, and I am very sure Carreras does NOT look forward to when he goes in to have one), they are beneficial and give you a peace of mind if you are worried about getting seriously ill. They are especially important for him now, since he is in his mid-60s.

  • Opera is to music what a bawdy house is to a cathedral.

  • make love with the word....that's amazing!! That is you, Carrera!!

  • excuse me..i'm italian, can you tell me what metha said about carreras??

  • The really funny part is that Carreras sings "My Way" with excellent English unlike Sinatra who murders the dipthongs.

Later in life Sinatra became a source of parody for his dipthongs eg. - "I did it my wayeeeeeeee" or "Strangers in the nieeeeeeeegth".

Sinatra was of course a vocal genius and Carerras is certainly right to revere him. But when he got older his mechanism could no longer support his intentions.

  • This is a wonderful interview! Is that really

a recording of Jose Carreras singing "La Donna e Mobile" as a boy? The part where Placido Domingo brought Carreras onstage for a curtain call brought tears to my eyes.

  • Superb interview. Tremendous rapport.

  • συχαριτιρια σπουδεα φωνη ''sakis arabatzis tenore''

  • Incredible honesty from such a wonderful man.....such modesty/humility....AND A VOICE that matches himself magnificent!
