Competitors riding the Shooter Shuttle and walking off famed Viale Range at Camp Perry, Ohio after the Springfield Armory M1A Match, August 3, 2008. Note the red t-shirts given to all competitors. This match must be fired with an M1a or M14 clone. 50 shots. Five sighters and then twenty prone slow fire, 10 sitting rapid, 10 prone rapid and 10 offhand slow fire.

  • No video of the M1A Match, though I shot it. Time limits are basically one minute per shot for slow fire stages and one minute for ten shots during rapid. In the M1A match you start the rapid fires IN position, so it's not standing to sitting rapid fire, just sitting rapid fire. Same with prone rapid. If you are already in position with front sight on your target and bolt closed, pretty easy to make time.

  • Thanks for posting. Do you have the actual video footage of the SA M1A Match? What are the time limits for each? ( the 20 rds prone slow fire, 10 sitting rapid, etc, ) and the distance?
