nooo, they are the best ducks to hunt in my opinion, plus thats almost all we have in SC, not to mention they are delicious!!

I got mine from a breeder and she has been with me since the day she hatched. She will be 2 years old on May 13th. Unfortunately, she will not ever be let go into the wild, since she was raised by a human mommy, she wouldn't know how to survive out in the wild. This summer we are building her a nice pond in the back yard, so she will have a huge place to swim, other than a small pool or tub. And even though she does go outside, she is an inside ducky and sleeps with me on the bed.

this is a female wood duck in a house ! thanks for the experience of hearing it's call... of course, it is illegal to have one in your house; it's a protected native species !

If you did any research, you would see that it's perfectly legal to have one as long as you have a permit and get it from a licensed breeder.
