It's not even the house that's 'haunted'. It's the building that the dad works at. And not even the building, just the mirrors in the basment of the building. The spirit inside of it just happens to stalk him and his family. You get scared while watching it because you expect to be scared, like the saying goes, the only thing to fear is fear itself. The movie itself isn't scary at all. It's really confusing....
