  • Wonderful, i appreciate it. I'll give it all the support i can. Keep it up. Hmong design is endless.

  • @yoghmoob- the purpose of this is not to recreate hmong clothes. each designer is required to use all 5 hmong fabrics somewhere in their piece.

  • As a whole new generation of hmong people, we integrate the american culture into ours. Many of us can't even speak our own language anymore. But hopefully people like you and myself can help preserve our culture through passing on "pa ndau" to our daughters and them to our grand daughters. The symbols, although cannot be interpreted anymore, are still important values of who we are.

  • Very impressive! A few of them did not symbolize HMOOB in their pattern but only in color and fabric. However, I can see myself wearing 2-3 of the outfits. I hope that hmong people don't forget why the patterns were so special and the reason why "pa ndau" was carried on by the hmong daughters for thousandths of years.

Do you know why and the reason for each symbol on the womens skirt? Also what about the reason why us women carry the square symbols on the back of our shirts?

  • hmmm...doesn't look like Hmong clothes at all.
