Sad news as of August 31, as Wade was found dead in his Toronto hotel room. He may not have had the best scoring touch, but his heart and love of the game made him a fan favourite. This video is dedicated to his memory. Rest in peace, Beelar.
Wade Belak, not having scored a goal since December 20, 2003, scores his first goal in 143 games against Chris Mason and the Nashville Predators on December 5, 2007. Belak was also on pace to beat the Maple Leafs record of consecutive games without a goal, a record held by Bob McGill with a goaless drought of 198 games. However, the record for Belak was not-to-be, as he had his streak come to an end. Joe Bowden and Greg Millen with the call.
Let the Wade Belak chanting begin: "BELAK! BELAK! BELAK! BELAK!"

I remember this goal and the rest of the game like it was yesterday - we were laughing, cheering and chanting 'Belak!' in our livingroom. Wish I was superman and could reverse the earth's rotation back a week - I am so sad right now. RIP Wade Belak.
