the only thing bad about this is Derek Forbes thier original bass player is missing.... Here we've got stuck with that slapper John Giblin. No really, he is a slapper, that's all he does. It bloody annoys me..... He slaps every bloody song.

@vodude I concur with that statement !

Underrated song & band. They were one of the best bands of the 80's w/out a doubt.

J'm 43 j saw 16 Simple minds gigs(the 1st one in1984)and 15 U2 gigs(the 1st one 1985)so I love both band!but 4me Simple minds r a better live band(mel gaynor and derek forbes are better than larry mullen and adam clayton)and charlie burchill is an underrated guitarist good as the edge(probably better than the edge,and j adore the Edge,j play u2)bono and brian eno said(in 1984)that unforgettable fire was inspired by Simple minds(new gold dream)so simple minds r not a u2 copy!anw j love both bands

Charlie's a terrific guitarist, but he just holds the damn thing all wrong!

Live Aid was amazing, and it's good to see the respect for Simple Minds here. One of the better performances in Philly that day, and they rarely get the admiration they deserve for their great set.

JK and co, what a crew. Very understated groput for their time. Outsatnding tunes and such phenomenal songs. Live aid was all the better for having them there, so glad I can still remember it.
I really miss the 80s. Ghostdancing is a very underrated song :P

@THEGREATROBYNIE you are obviously unfamiliar with Simple Minds and the "sound" of the early to mid 80s. Everyone sounded like this back then, and it wasn't because of U2. U2 wasn't even a household name until Joshua Tree, and that was released 2 years after this Live Aid performance!
U2 isn't the be all and end all, buddy. Back then, especially after the release of the Breakfast Club and "Don't You," EVERYONE wanted to sound like Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill!
