  • Thank you for sharing this Info!

  • Pleasure! :)

  • My main protein sources comes from goji berries, spirulina and hemp seeds. I also have 2 easygreen automatic sprout growers, so get 1-2 trays a day to add to my green juice.

It's actually easier to get good protein on a raw diet than a cooked one :-)

You're right - it's all about minerals! I add ocean water to my sprout growing which really helps plus have added vocanic minerals to my garden soil.

I rarely eat grains - but sprouted buckwheat is something that I like now and again.

  • You are definitely the Superfood Superhero Wonderwoman!!!!!

I've gotta get onto the ocean water with my sprouts too :)

  • Thanks for the info,

    Do you drink wheatgrass juice?

I heard it's gross but good for you :-)

  • Yes I do, lately not so often, but i did have some yesterday. Its great for you and doesn't taste that bad!

  • Glad you gave the rotating greens tip, I've been overdoing it with the spinach. :-)

  • @tBrozius Nice one I will use that :)

  • @TheaDragonSpirit David Wolfe says in his book 'the Sunfood Diet' that we make B12 ourselves, in the colon, when we eat unwashed, organic produce. the organisms of the soil trigger the body to create its own organisms that produce b12. he points to gorillas who don't eat meat, but are the strongest land animals.

  • Natasha I am concerned about the grains, both the U.S. and Chinese food guide pyramid sugest that we consume 6-11 servings per day. So why would you only have the grains every once in a while? I am just starting out raw, any help is appreciated.

  • You are correct, too much protein is NOT good for you. I just finished my nutrition class in college, adding extra dietary protein may lead to an increase in body fat. People don't realize that a serving of meat is about 3 ounces. However cooking the meat makes it more digestable for humans, so, if you do eat meat, cook it.

  • What about vitimin b12? Where do you get this vitimin from?

  • So if I eat a cup of nuts/seeds and a cup of sprouted bean hummus a day-- am I overdoing it? I highly doubt that. (2 pounds of greens a day) I really cannot eat that amount of greens in a day - it'd def have to juice that 2 pounds of greens. BUT in Jamaica and not living on a farm I won't be able to afford that. :-) So sprouts all the way. Plus protein or really amino acids are found in great proportion in beans like:- Great Northern Beans, Soybeans, Chickpeas.

  • sea veggies are good as well :)

  • hey guys, be very careful of green leaves or else you WILL get sick from all the oaxlic acid! Stick to sprouts, nuts and seeds. Humans are NOT herbivores, we dont eat leaves and grasses!!! We are frugivores, so anything eminating from a flower, so if it tastes too bitter, don't do it, its the oaxlic acid.

  • get a protein blood test each year and see where you fall if you are vegan. might not be as high as you think if you are exercising, consuming the protein to build muscles back.

sprouts per cup have half the protein, than if they were cooked beans.
