I keep hearing whta sounds like clockwork when these videos play. What is that?

For some reason when I play this level at the very beginning everything looks normal like it does here, but once it loads into the second part by the cliff all the shadows and texture seem to get really light and almost vanish. Then when I go through to another area it all goes back to normal. It just happens in certain places in the forest. Could anyone tell me what might be the problem?
