4 die as boat capsizes in Othaya

Four people have died in Othaya after the boat they riding in capsized at Chinga dam in the area. The victims are said to have boarded the small boat in the company of three others who survived when the tragedy occurred+** One of those who died is said to be an assistant chief from Kieni. There are speculations that the boat was overloaded and that it was leaking at the time of the accident. The bodies of the four have not yet been retrieved and are awaiting help from Kenya Navy.

Now, whose fault?The boatowner definitely,for overloading and operating a faulty vessel.They should also think of having life jackets(may be not the pricey ones like you'd find in Canada but cheap alternatives like inflated disused rubber tubes).I once went in such a boat and strared at death as the boat started taking water in rough waters.With no swimming skills and no life jackets my job was to empty the water.Well all I can say is that I've never done a job so well and I've never gone back
