how much would all this cost to get started into reloading? components and machine?
-
Thanks very good video..
-
also did you clean your powder and shot containers due to the any factory used grease to keep the product from rusting or anything? Just checking because with Hornady's loader people didn't clean the parts and degrease them and their powder charge part clogged up.
-
so just stick to those a good hull and wad brand no matter what shot and powder you load? I know that I read somewhere that there was a recommended combination of primer, powder, and wad to use to be safe with pressure. Is this true?
-
have you experimented with different powders, primers, and multiple shot shells? How well does this device work for all the differences and how well does the crimping stage actually crimp? I have seen some machines where the crimp doesn't close it all the way. How well does this machine crimp with different shots (maybe slug), different wads, shells that have been reloaded multiple times (what's the cut off line for that) and what about different guages? does anything have to be changed on this
-
what is the difference in wads beside sizes?
-
Is it possible to reload - club, STS and AA hulls with the same bushings?
There were no grease neither do i grease or oil the mec and it does'nt rust unless left in a very moist area or something. I've had mine for atleast 8 years and it works as good now as then. Reloading data will tell you what wad and primers as well as powder charge for what oz. shot. You can use or replace 1 primer brand for another with the same value lighter charges give you more flexability. Higher charges less.

Hulls can be loaded alot. When the crack or split up at the top then the're through. As far as guages you would have to buy the parts to convert which would be bothersome. I would just buy the guages I wanted to reload but if money is an issue then converting over would work fine. And that goes for all reloaders there is no one size fits all. Defferent powders is more to do with what kind of load I use hs-6 by hodgdon it'd the same as win. 540 for one and many others .

I've never loaded slugs but as for wads alot depends on the brand as well as the hulls. when the machine is set right it does a real good job on crimp and finish product. The powder and shot doesn't matter so much as the hull and wad. Win. AA hulls and a good wad like win. brand work very well. Clay buster make good wads of any size that work well. Some wads and some hulls don't do so good but it's not the fault of the machine but the component. It's as good of a reloader out there.

I know you like lee products. Do you own a lee load all 2 as well?

@chios1958
no I don't have the Lee it's just not as good of a machine. I've seen the mec 600 jr last for years and it's very easy to use. You can't set the wad pressure on the lee and you can on the mec. sorry I'm so latein answering.
