This is my second performance of the Hallelujah Chorus. I played it similarly to the way that the great Anthony Burger played it, but I did change it up a little to suit myself. This was during our Christmas concert of 2007. It didn't turn out quite as well as I had hoped but none the less it's okay. The sound didn't mix as well as I was hoping either. And to be completely honest a good portion of this was improvised and made up on the spot. I prayed strongly before I went to play that God would play this song the way he wanted it play through my hands. And I truely don't remember much of this performance at all. I just kinda spaced out. I remember starting it and realized that I was standing when it was over. It truely didn't remember anything until I watched this video for myself. Anyways, I hope I did Anthony Burger justice. I did my best, although I think I could have definitely did a better job, but I'm sure God doesn't mind. I hope you really enjoy this Christmas piece as much as I do.

@PianistFishermanGuy I really love how you played this. What parts of music theory are most important to develop your ear to play songs after only hearing them once or twice? This is exactly what I am trying to learn.

Very impressive. You are correct those runs are tough to get smooth and clean. What those that don't play may not realize is that not only is it a difficult piece but memorizing these long pieces takes lots of work. I have no doubt you can have a career in the gospel music field.

Thanks. And your right people don't realize how much work goes into this stuff. Memorizing wasn't to bad for me. I learned it all by ear, and my ear is fairly good. I can pretty much listen to it once or twice and get pretty close. Music is pretty simple once you know the theory behind, and I guess I memorized as I went. Thanks, I do really hope that I get a job in the gospel music field, somewhere. Whether on stage or in the studio.

Thanks. HAHA. Yes you do have to practice a lot. Hours and hours and hours a day for years! If this is something your planning on undertaking, all I can say is, "Be Prepared for the Long Haul!" Good Luck, and God Bless

Contact WORD MUSIC. You can google them and get their website. And you may have to call or email them, but ask for the Anthem "Hallelujah Chorus" arranged by Lari Goss. That should get it for you. Thanks
