This is a video of how I install 1/4" marine plywood to the bottom of newly constructed bottom frames. The aft and middle sections of the bottom get full sheets of plywood and the forward section gets 6" diagnal strips of plywood. The plywood is only attached with a few screws and nails. After dry fitting is complete the panels will be numbered and removed. The back of the plywood and the new bottom frames will then be coated with 2 coats of Smiths Penetrating Epoxy and oil based paint. The panels will then be installed with 3M 5200 between the frames and plywood and screwed/nailed where needed. I will then start fitting the mahogany bottom planks.
