Liftboat at offshore oil platform

This is a 175 class liftboat at work on an offshore oil production platform in the Gulf of Mexico (SMI 280H platform). The legs are 175 feet long and the barge is 110' long and 70' wide. It is powered by two Detroit 1292s with two 70kw generators and one Detroit 871 V8 engine for the cranes. It carries a crew of 5 people and provides housing, food and other services for up to 23 contractors.

What do you mean "lifeboat" it a jackup foing some sort of workover via the bridge, would not like to think of that as an adequate escape. boat in water with engine running, as far away as possible is what I consider a lifeboat.

@annie46664 your right, we can all help as individuals by not riding or driving in motorized vehicles, get some farm animals to eat the grass. If more people would do this for a little while, they might come up with some safer ideas. But we must not support thier greed by using the products of their greed. This is tragic! OMG! Especially since there is absolutely NEVER any need to remove oil from Earth anyway! If the bastards aka VAMPIRES weren't so greedy, we would've all converted to harmless, readily available & very inexpensive tried & tested alternatives.

Blinking oil results in unnecessary WARS, assassinations, massive pollution, countless health issues & harm to our most precious planet through removing her BLOOD!
