@yakacm My Grandmother's 1955 Imperial, the very first one on this anthology, came equipped with power steering, brakes, windows, and last but certainly not least, factory installed air conditioning. The interesting thing about this car's a/c was, half of the unit was under the hood, (bonnet), the other half, the cooling side was located in the trunk (boot). The air vents were located on the back shelf at the rear window rather than today's vents on the dash.

@OldCarsAreBest If you wanted to spend the money, I'm sure you could. They would put the 426 hemi in a dart.

Very interesting automotive history video.
Thanks for sharing!
Imperial was never sold here (Australia) The Imperial is very American, very showy and very confident.
Some would say the Imperial is excessive.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder (owner) though!

The music is Taco Bell's Canon in D.

Class and style at his best, These realy were Dreamcars, when Detroit was the world leader in Car-design.

Curiously no 1964, 65, 66 generation pics in that montage. Bordello on wheels.

Back in the day, I wonder if you really wanted to, if you could special order an Imperial with the 426 Hemi engine....
