How many of you have fought with a huge pry bar trying to get the carrier to pop out of a rear end. I heard about this trick and tried it while upgrading the axle in my mustang. Take a rag, ball it up, and then using a ratchet, turn it under the ring gear using the ring gear bolts to turn the gear. Make sure its stuffed in there tight! It will start popping out the carrier and then it can easily be pried the rest of the way out. After trying this, that the fastest I've ever gotten the carrier to pop out.

  • nice vid bro, im guessing this axle is from the stang, i cant tell if its an 8.8 or 7.5, were u putting a 8.8 or just upgrading the gears in the 7.5?

  • It's the 7.5 out of the 07 mustang. I decided just to upgrade that one because it was going to cost over a grand to order the 8.8. This way I save a lot since my parents got me the gears for Christmas. I'm putting 3:73's in with a POSI. I've read the 7.5 is good up to 400 horse so I figured I'd just keep it since I really don't plan on taking the V6 over that.

  • Good work but you seriously need a tripod for that Blair Witch camera
