  • The colour, tone, and dynamics are sensational. Such a work of art.

  • @Hybridstigmatist Do you know what I am pointing out? Ive been playing cello since I was seven and have been classically trained by international cellist's. I understand you need to adjust your fingers depending on what type of technique you want to produce a certain sound. And that your fingers should be curved and a should be pointing somewhat down and away from you. But her joints in her fingers themselves are bent akwardly.

  • I had a double jointed student and to be able to play at all is quite a feat. It's possible that this cellist is, although I don't know. If she is, it makes her even more amazing. Sometimes her fingers are curved. Everything I've heard her play is perfect. She is exquisitely expressive, savors every note she plays as one tasting a delicacy for the first time. Not to sound sappy, but clearly the music is not just in her mind, but also her soul.

  • Perfect!!!

  • mi segunda versión favorita después de la de Jacqueline du Pré... pone tanta pasión en ello...

  • @Hybridstigmatist I agree with him, he's not doing it wrong at all, I've been trained for the same amount of time, and I've not come across this either!

  • She has a very unusual left hand technique, the fingers that aren't being used seem to stick out quite a lot, so it would be a big effort to put any of them down. I'm not criticising it though, because I would give anything to be able to perform like this, and this is certainly one of my favourite interpretations I've ever heard of this piece! Sol Gabetta is a HIGHLY underrated cellist, and should be better known than she is IMHO!

  • Definitely my favorite version.

  • Shit Hot!

  • @MrTreylynch A G. B Gaudagnini cello crafted in 1759.

  • Like cellist this is my favourite piece. She plays amazing this concerto, for me this is the best version of this piece. She's able to transmit everythink whithout saying a word..

  • 2:25 - 3:10 is my favourite moment in any classical piece
