this song is about lost friendship and what it does to you. it's an old song so
it's also about a friend i had for a long time ago that i really admired, but
nowadays we don't talk and we don't see each other. but i still remember his
words and his ways of putting things. i will never forget...

@sydmarissa Wouldn't it more literally translate to "Be the Moon?" Considering am is conjugation of the verb 'be'.

Sure je suis is the present tense of etre in the first person, but it's also the imperative present tense of suivre in the second person. And occam's razor says that that follow the moon is more likely than am the moon.
