Yes, it will work, however if you use alot of water like I do you will have buckling problems.
If you work small your o.k.
I prefer 140# blocks that are sealed around edges to keep it tight. Good luck. Ken

Hey, anonymous, I've found oil pastels to be a bit messy, too. That's one reason I prefer using oil paints and brushes. Best of luck to you in all of your artistic endeavors!
