Vic Elford was a hero, to get out of his car and try and get the driver out (even though the driver was vacated).

Jo was a trully great driver and it's very sad that we've lost him, and many other very good drivers, either from f1 or other forms of car-racing. :( I've watched some footge shown @ spa wec 6h last w/e of jo driving his lola t70 through spa and it was spectacular on the film... imagine that in real it would've been just WOW. RIP Jo, and RIP every pilot we've lost on the altar of speed. you'll never be forgotten.

    Afterthought....

1972 was the first year that they used the newly added "Porsche Curves" and bypassing "Maison Blanche" (White House). If you think about it, the only part of the circuit that remains unchanged is the run between Mulsanne Corner (which has been re-profiled) through Indianapolis, Arnage, and fast rolling curves leading up the Porsche Curves turnoff, which leads the course away from "Maison Blanche"

No worries. But here's some nice clips with narrated laps around Le Mans posted here. I recommend the "1969 Le Mans Onboard for the ""Maison Blanche" (White House) era, and the 2010 Astor Martin Onboard clip for the Modern era which includes the Porsche Curves, the adding of 2 chicanes on Mulsanne Straight and the turns added between the Pit Straight, the old Dunlop Curve and the Original "Esses". My favorite is the one from 1969 narrated by Sterling Moss.
