Both AMD's 6 series GPUs and Nvidia's 5 series are great. I have a Gefore GTX 570 2GB in my desktop and I have a AMD 6770M HD 1GB in my laptop currently.

@brodygates when it comes to normal games with dx11, i don't really notice much difference and dx11 makes you drop framrate... i'm gettin a gtx 295 but thats up to you :)

Drivers sure have come a long way (I'm using Nvidia's 285 drivers) , with the same settings I get 21k with a i7 2600 @ 3.8ghz and a gtx 560 @ 1ghz.

the gtx 295's are going for dirt cheap now on craigslist and kijiji ,as little as 100$ each. gtx 295 in Quad SLI still kicks Ass!
