  • Even though I disagree with GT's political views, as a fellow PSU alumnus and former THON participant myself (canned for one of my clubs and also worked on a committee), I have the utmost of praise and respect for the man after hearing this speech. Well done, Congressman! WE ARE.....

  • You must be confused. This is not about funding for the students. It is not about the university.

This is about raising money For The Kids.

Way to go THON'ers and especially the super human Moralers!

Joe is right. You all make us Penn State Proud!

  • WE ARE PENN STATE, WE ARE PENN STATE.

  • THON has absolutely NOTHING to do with funding from PSU or the State of Pennsylvania...it is the biggest STUDENT fundraiser in the world...and run TOTALLY by the students...no advisors...no "political" money...so go ahead and correct any spelling mistakes I may have made...THON doesn't need aid from Harrisburg...or anyone else...it's FTK by the kids...it's the purest thing I've ever seen...and god bless each and every one of you that participate....

  • It's altruism, not ultruism. My main point of what I'm trying to say is that Thompson should be doing more than highlighting THON in the house, though giving such attention to THON is incredibly helpful. Shame on YOU for not believing THON can get more aid from a political standpoint.

  • This has absolutely NOTHING to do with state funding for Penn State University. Rep Thompson is the federal rep. The government funding cuts under discussion are at the state level.

THON has nothing to do with this state funding battle! Shame on you for dragging this solely student run act of ultruism into a political battle.

  • Around the time he was making this speech there was talk about the state cutting funds for Penn State. Recognition towards THON is great but if funds are being cut, THON could get hurt too.

  • Please remember all you great PSU alums and others....this is not about politics...as JoePa said (paraphrasing)..."the love...the commitment...the dedication"....and thanks mscanman...my son was a captain also...and once again to quote Joe "I have NEVER been more proud"...these kids are absolutely amazing...this is not about Repubs and Demos...this is FTK's.....

  • I may not agree with Republicans on many (if any) issues, but I completely agree with this!! We Are...

  • Wow! This is great stuff. Go THON!
