A machine with a doll face mimics images on television screen in search of a satisfactory visage. Doll Face presents a visual account of desires misplaced and identities fractured by our technological extension into the future.

i think its a metaphor as to people who mindlessly try to get closer and closer to ever changing ideas of beauty. and when its out of reach, the need to be accepted still pushes us to keep trying but its destroying us. its pitiful :l and sad

I thought it was about the machine grasping for humanity. The first makeover made her look a little more human, then the next makeover brought her a little bit closer, but she is just a machine and no matter how hard she tried, humanity is out of her grasp. This was really beautiful and sad.

We watched this video today in English class and we had to tell what we first thought of this and I said that I think the box represents her comfort zone and when she steps out of it she's scares then she sees something that she loves so much (the TV) and wants to be just like that. I said the TV is society and when it kept getting further and further away it was like it was pushing her to become more and more, then when she couldn't get any closet, that was her braking point.

Where did they teach you to talk like that, in some Panama City 'Sailor wanna hump-hump' bar, or is it getaway day and your last shot at his whiskey? Sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.

True beauty and happiness comes from within; when we learn to love, respect and value ourselves not as blank masks to be painted on, but as beautiful, precious human beings.

"How will I see myself today? Will i choose to be angry and disappointed in myself? Or, will I choose to value myself and say 'yes, I am beautiful, and I am valuable.'" It's a disease of the mind when we think we aren't good enough, and it's sad how influential people, especially younger people, can be when the media shoves it's views of what 'real beauty' is.

cage. If it weren't for her, my dad and my friends, i would be so lost. However, it was entirely my choice how i decided to live my life and how i chose to see myself. In the end, one has to ask themselves
