Yankee Stadium as we enjoy the final season in their current location. The new Yankee Stadium is right next door. This video has some footage of the new stadium but is more about remembering the current stadium. More classic Yankees videos at my channel such as cards from the 1960's onward. george never liked yankee stadium because hes an egomaniac. he couldnt deal with the fact that it was called the house that ruth built. im not a fan of the new stadium because its not about baseball. yankee stadium had such an amazing history, plus it was old school and tough like the city of new york.

It's a business, as it was in the old yankee stadiums and always will be. I didn't think that I would like the new stadium as much as I do. They did a good job. The memories from the different stadiums mark an era. If they win, people will keep coming. If they lose, people won't spend their money.

The new building will be great but not enough to tear down the original.

It's wrong, but apparently Steinbrenner thought that Yankee Stadium was as disposible as any other sports venue with the original Comiskey Park and Tiger Stadium gone. And sports venues seem as disposible as old hotels and decrepit projects with changing demands. But did the fans want what the new stadium will have? We like hard numbers, like that 39 and what it meant, a little more than abstract concepts like historical value. It was either glossed over or just never thought of.

It may not be the same chairs but most of the seating areas are the same (or simply extended). The bleachers are the same, the exterior walls are the same. It's just wrong.

Some people say it makes no difference since these are not the same stands that Babe, Lou, Joltin' Joe and Mickey played in front of, but it's all about the field. Because the Yankees played in 39 World Series, more Hall of Famers and future inductees played on this field than any other. This may be why the current Yankee property will be divided into three ballfields. The future of the current diamond is up in tha air, though.
