as a pokemon player and kongai player i can say this. Pokemon>Kongai.

for a few reasons

1. item bluffing in pokemon is powerful

2. different pokemon sets have different counters.

3. swiching is MUCH safer'

4. more difficult mindgames

5. pokemon priority > move priority

6. varity in both indvidual characters and # of them.(rather than kongais only having the characters themselves vary)

@USSgordon I'd really rather not have this turn into a Pokemon vs. Kongai debate. This is for people interested in getting into Kongai, if you enjoy Pokemon more, by all means play that game instead.

As a person who's played them both as well, I'd say that Kongai > Pokemon. Here's why I think you're wrong:

1) The items normally don't make THAT much of a difference, so bluffing items isn't that powerful

2) I don't see your point. Different kongai cards have different counters.

3 and 4) Switching not being safe is what gives kongai depth and its mindgames

5) RPG elements suck.

6) There's a ton of useless pokemon though. How many are actually viable in competitive play?
