This is the confusion.

The engine in this car is obviously using the 2.5 litre redblock stroker kit I mentioned, which are fairly common and well known, in conjunction with the 16 valve head. The 2.5 kit is more often associated with the 8-valve redblock engine, but works with both.

The 2.5 litre whiteblock engine as fitted to the 960 is the 6-cylinder unit only available as a 24 valve engine, which is the modular all-alloy engine with a lot in common with the 4 and 5-cylinder whiteblocks.

@Un4Given71 volovo doesnt have a 2,5 liter 4 cylinder, but a 6 cylinder 2.5 litre engine.

@Jimpank90 Well, I'm perfectly aware of the B204 turbo engine. What I have never heard of, if you read my previous comments, is the 2,5litre 4 cyl engine, that some dude stated is fitted in the car in the video.

That is correct, but only in some markets, and only at 2-litre capacity. The larger capacity is obtained by using the common long stroke 'redblock' short block parts, onto whiich either 8 or 16 valve heads can be fitted. 8-valve turbo 'redblock' engines WERE used in both 940 and 960 models in various markets, and in fact are far more common than the 16 valve 2-litre versions.

In UK and other markets only the 2.5 litre and 3 litre whiteblock were fitted in the 960.
