Dramma per musica in 3 acts
Libretto: Pietro Metastasio, revised by Mattia Verazi
Aspasia's aria (Act I)
Chi mai d'iniqua stella
provò tenor più rio?
Chi vide mai del mio

JC Bach was a master, there was nothing "simple" about his music. His music wasn't a forerunner to anything. It can be enjoyed for its own unique attributes. His musical phrases seem more expressive than his contemporaries. And his textures are unusually rich.
