I live down the street on Ridge and I think this was a Tornado. It sounded like the classic train sound outside of my window and the leaves and sticks it my yard that were picked up were rotating in the air with the wind. It may have skipped around and then dissipated, but I'm convinced tornado is what felled all of the trees in old town.
